Pitch lay in the darkness, feeling just generally miserable. He curled up tightly beneath his thick warm blanket, yet he was still shivering slightly.
"Hey, Pitch..." Jacks voice gently broke the silence as he stepped into the room. "How are you doing?" Pitch shot out a withering glare that, had it been anyone else, would have anyone cringing. "Look... I'm sorry ok?" Pitch just turned away. Jack sat on the bed, gently running his fingers through Pitch's hair.
"This is all your fault Jack." Pitch said his voice coming out scratchy and hoarse.
"Well when you want to snuggle with the spirit of winter you have to accept the fact that you migh
"No!" Pitch said, staring down at the teen who was beaming as though he had the best idea in the history of ideas.
"Aww. C'mon Pitch it's Halloween! And you would look fantastic." Jack whined. While it was true that Pitch did heave a special fondness for Halloween, he did not have a fondness for wearing ridiculous outfits and going to parties to be mobbed by anyone who recognized him, or whoever he was supposed to be.
"Out of all of your schemes Frost, this one is just ludicrous. You actually thought that you could convince me to do this?" Pitch said still glaring at the teen. Jack just nodded enthusiastically.
"Pitch. You really should.
"Pitch. I think you might be overreacting..." Jack said as he snuggled up to a slightly aggravated nightmare king.
"Oh sure I'm certain the Guardians would be perfectly ok with the young and innocent Jack Frost being coerced into a fling with the Nightmare King." Pitch said with an aggravated pout on his face.
"Ok first, young and innocent? I'm frozen at 18 if they really thought I was that innocent then they are just thick. Second, coerced? I was the one who asked you out. Or did you forget about the week you had me pretty much plastered to your backside."
"I -still- have you plastered to my backside. And just because you were the one wh
"North it has to just be a misunderstanding. Don't do this!" Jack said as he fought to get to get around the large Guardian.
"Pitch... I really thought that you had changed..." North said, completely ignoring Jack. "To think you would even come back here after what you had done..."
"North. You have to listen to me. It wasn't what you think." Pitch desperately attempted to explain.
"No! No more of your lies Pitch. You are to leave and never return." Pitch's eyes widened in disbelief. Why wouldn't North just... But of course he knew from the beginning that Jack was the only person that trusted him. He turned away vanishing quietly into sha
Jack punched the wall of ice once again, blood smearing against the ice from the numerous cuts he had received from assault on the ice. He turned and slumped against the ice, tears now freely flowing from his eyes. He dug his palms into his eyes as his thoughts wandered to what brought him here.

It was the first day of winter, Jack flew carefree on the wind, sending snow gently floating down on the streets of Burgess. As soon as a small fresh blanket of snow covered the city he flew happily to the house of his best and oldest friend. He slipped in quickly through the window, calling out his friends name.
